PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber connector which can stably and highly accurately position optical fibers, and can reliably and easily secure the allowable curvature radiuses of the optical fibers. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber connector which get the tip parts of a pair of optical fibers 1 and 2 butted against each other to join them by coupling a pair of holders 3 and 4 holding the connection side end parts 1b and 2b of the optical fibers 1 and 2 with each other, a holding part which has holding grooves 7 and 8 to hold the portion of one side across the central axis of the connection side end parts 1b and 2b of the optical fibers 1 and 2, and to expose the other side portion, is formed in respective holders 3 and 4. The holding grooves 7 and 8 have a pair of tilted surfaces to position the portion of one side. The tip part surfaces 1a and 2a of the optical fibers 1 and 2 retreat from the tip part surfaces 1a and 2a of the holding part. When the pair of holders 3 and 4 are coupled with each other, the holding grooves 7 and 8 of the holding parts 3b and 4b of one side and the holding grooves 7 and 8 of the holding parts 3b and 4b of the other side are located at an opposite side across the optical fibers 1 and 2. A portion corresponding to the retreat of the holding grooves 7 and 8 on one side positions the optical fibers 1 and 2 of the other side.
