PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive sampler reduced in manday for maintenance and inspection, and to provide a means capable of collecting and conditioning an analytical sample quickly from a fused steel flow fed from a ladle to a tundish, using the sampler. SOLUTION: A bottom plate with a cylindrical protrusion formed in its upper face is engaged with a pipe in the cylindrical protrusion of the bottom plate to form a sampler main body, and a handle for supporting the sampler main body is attached to the bottom plate to form the sampler. When the analytical sample is conditioned from the fused steel by the sampler, the bottom plate is separated from the steel sample integrated with the pipe after the fused steel is solidified in a sample chamber formed by the pipe and the bottom plate, the obtained steel sample is cut into a prescribed length together with the pipe, and the analytical sample is extracted from an inside of the pipe.
