PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cleaning material enabling the cleaning of scale deposited on the surface of a bathtub with minimum labor and usable for a long period. SOLUTION: The cleaning material 10 is produced by sintering a porous material 1 composed mainly of diatomaceous earth, crushing the produced sintered porous material 2, adding a small amount of a solidifying material 4 to the powdery sintered porous material 3, kneading the product with water 5, forming the kneaded mixture 6 to a prescribed form and drying the formed product.
