PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solvent composition for cleaning, having excellent cleaning power and containing 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane as a main component. SOLUTION: This solvent composition is produced by mixing 1,1,1,3,3- pentafluorobutane with n-propyl bromide, isopropyl bromide, nitromethane, nitroethane, d-limonene or 3-methoxy butyl acetate. The composition may further contain at least one kind of solvent selected from >=5C alkanes, >=5C cycloalkanes and alcohols.
