PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene lap film for a food having excellent heat resistance, adhesive properties, drawability, cuttability and molding stability while holding transparency without generating discomfort odor even by using a microwave oven. SOLUTION: The film for packaging the food comprises a film obtained by biaxially stretching a film obtained by laminating specific ethylene resins each containing low-density polyethylene resin as a main component on both sides of a polypropylene resin layer containing a propylene monopolymer as a main component at a ratio of longitudinal stretch ratio/lateral stretch ratio of a range of 1.1 to 1.5 in a range of 2 to 5 as in the longitudinal direction and the lateral direction with an entire thickness of the film of 5 to 50μm and a thickness of the polypropylene resin layer of 10 to 90% of the entire film thickness.
