PURPOSE: A multi-media driving system and a method for controlling the same are provided to increase pleasure of sightseeing by providing information of a corresponding region to a driver. CONSTITUTION: A GPS(Global Positioning System)(2) is used for detecting a location of a moving vehicle by using a satellite. A GIS(Geographic Information System)(3) is used for storing geographical information of each region and outputting geographical information corresponding to the detected location of the moving vehicle. A database(5) is used for storing roads, weather, gas stations, famous places, related news information, and advertisements of each region stored in the GIS(3) with motion picture data. A CPU(4) is used for transmitting data of the database(5) to a receiving terminal(7). A main system(1) is formed with GPS(2), the GIS(3), the database(5), and the CPU(4). A transmission/reception part(8) receives or transmits necessary data from or to the database(5). A key input portion(11) is used for inputting various commands. A control portion(9) requests necessary information to the main system(1) and outputs the received information to a display portion(10). The display portion(10) is used for displaying the received information.
