PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forklift capable of correcting the deflection in accompany with the load, of a mast and forks, and the delay of a control system, and stopping the forks at a predetermined angle with a simple and inexpensive constitution without installing a new sensor. SOLUTION: When a horizontal stop instruction switch 15 is operated to stop the forks in a horizontal state, a hydraulic motor 27 is operated with a minimize output instruction value, a tilt angle of the forks during the tilting motion is detected by a tilt angle detecting means 21, an output signal of the tilt angle detecting means 21 is differentiated by a CPU 25 to derive a tilting speed of the forks, the deflection of the mast and the forks in accompany with the load on the forks and the stop predicted angle of the fork under the consideration of the control delay are operated on the basis of the derived tilting speed, and the hydraulic motor 27 is controlled by the CPU 25 to stop the forks at the operated stop predicted angle.
