PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability by a user and minimize generation of wastes of a recording medium by automatically making a margin for connection or a margin for supplying to a die cutter. SOLUTION: A label printer 102 comprises carrying means 301 and 302 for carrying the recording medium 106, a label printing means 303 for printing an image of a label based on print data generated by a print data generation means on the recording medium carried by the carrying means, and a control means for controlling the carrying means and the label printing means. When printing the image of the label, the carrying means and the label printing means are controlled, based on the print data, to generate margins for connection for connecting an end of the printing medium with another recording medium or an elongate member or margins for supplying paper for supplying into the die cutter.
