PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for hydrogenating a reaction mixture of the hydroformylation of an olefin. SOLUTION: The method comprises continuously hydrogenating a reaction mixture of the hydroformylation of a 4-16C olefin in a homogeneous liquid on a fixed bed catalyst containing at lest one kind out of the elements of the subgroup 8 in the periodic table of elements. The homogeneous liquid which flows out from the reactor contains 0.05-10 mass% of water.
