PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimension measuring method and device that can easily and accurately measure a work dimension with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A porous body 34 is arranged on an internal circumference part of a work holder 22 retaining a work W and the work W is then retained at a center of the work holder 22 by centripetal operation of air jetted out from the porous body 34. An image of an end face of the work W retained by the work holder 22 is taken by a CCD camera 54 and a decentered quantity of the work W is then determined by image processing based on the image of the end face of the work W projected on the CCD. Thereby a dimension of the work can be measured without rotation of the work W.
