PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rust preventive method for the interior of a main column material of a steel pipe tower, which continuously blows dry gas from the end of the steel tower top into the main column material, and discharges the dry gas which has passed the interior of a steel pipe, from a drain gutter of an impervious plate, arranged at an undermost portion of the main column material of the steel pipe tower, to thereby dry the interior of the steel pipe, and to provide an apparatus for use in implementing the method. SOLUTION: The rust preventing apparatus for the interior of the main column material of the steel pipe tower, which is attached to the top of the steel tower, comprises an air blower, an air drier, a pipe, a hose, etc. In order to feed electric power to the air blower and the air drier, the apparatus contains solar batteries and an aerogenerator.
