PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which has a fat cell differentiation-inhibiting action, is useful as a medicine for preventing and treating diseases caused by the differentiation of fat cells such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, ischemic heart diseases, hyperuricemia, sleep apnea syndrome, lipodystrophy, and Basedowic oculopathy, and is useful as a leading compound for screening fat cell differentiation-inhibiting substances and fat cell differentiation-promoting substances.
