PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-open metallic lid which has a similar high-speed productivity to that of a conventional easy-to-open lid and is excellent in openability, stability in opening, corrosion resistance and drop strength on the assumption that a straw is used for drinking. SOLUTION: The stay-on-tab easy-to open metallic lid is so designed that when a distance from a position where a tab 1 is fixed to a tip of the tab 1 is L1 and a distance from the tab fixed position to an initial opening position 5 is L2, a relation of L2>=-L1 is satisfied, wherein the tab stays fixed to a lid body even after the lid is opened. The lid can be used with the tab pushed for opening fallen down without pulling it back after the lid is opened. It is preferable that an area of the opening is 1.75 cm2 or less, or a radial length of the opening is 1.2 cm or less and a circumferential length is 2.0 cm or less. The tab is desirably fixed by riveting and further comprises a resin laminated metallic plate mainly containing a polyester. In addition, a cross-sectional shape of a bottom of an opening groove 4 is desirably a curved surface with a radius of 0.01 to 1 mm.
