PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder and its manufacturing method, in which the space between an ink jet head and a cover thereof and a body frame for supporting them can be filled with filler while discharging air efficiently and the filling state can be confirmed easily. SOLUTION: In a filling step, filler is injected into the inner space 15 from an injection opening 12 (direction of arrow Y). Injected filler flows in the inner space 15 while pushing out the air and fills the inner space 15. Air is discharged from a discharge opening 13a provided at the end of the inner space 15 farthest from the injection opening 12 (direction of arrow Z). Consequently, the filler seals the electrical joint of a piezoelectric ink jet head 6 without leaving air in the inner space 15. Completion of filling can be known when the filler is discharged from the discharge opening 13a.
