PURPOSE: An NAT(Network Address Translation) router for VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) systems is provided to maximize the efficiency of VoIP operation by applying an NAT protocol to a VoIP system. CONSTITUTION: An NAT router(40) includes an Ethernet driver(48), an Ethernet/IP interface module(46), a TCP/IP module(44), and an NAT module(42). The Ethernet driver(48) is connected with the Ethernet drivers(24) of many VoIP systems(20) through a hub. The Ethernet/IP interface module(46) allocates a specific physical address for the physical address of each VoIP Ethernet driver(24). The TCP/IP module(44), connected to the Ethernet/IP interface module(46), appoints local IP addresses for the VoIP systems(20) as much as the number of IP addresses required for the VoIP systems(20). The NAT module(42) translates specific internal local IP addresses for the VoIP systems(20) into global IP addresses.
