PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alternative tea using as the raw material the leaves and the stems of perilla. SOLUTION: The method for producing the red perilla tea is characterized by comprising collecting the leaves and the stems of perilla, washing them in water, thinly breaking the resultant product followed by making the resultant product semi-dried, and rubbing and completely drying the resultant product followed by roasting the resultant product. The objective red perilla tea is drinkable for children through the aged throughout the year, easily preservable, having light purple color enjoyable with the eyes, high flavor of perilla and slight sweetness, drinkable with great fragrant relish and refreshing in passing through the throat, wherein the hot tea thereof is favorable and the cold tea thereof is liked, there are some kinds of perilla and they can be brought into perilla tea with slight difference in colors from each other when brought into tea, and above all, red crepey perilla becomes the best tea. Perilla tea is made even through omitting roasting in the method for producing perilla tea, but fragrant flavor is increased in the tea through roasting to make the perilla tea deep by enjoyable. |
