PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce hexavalent chromium-containing wastewater without using a reduction vessel and with minimizing the influence of DO not to excessively use a ferrous salt. SOLUTION: The ferrous salt is poured into discharge piping 2, through which the hexavalent chromium-containing wastewater flows, by the amount equal to or slightly exceeding a reaction equivalent with respect to the hexavalent chromium content of the wastewater, and then mixed with the wastewater in the discharge pipe 2.
