PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional structure of biliverdin reductase. SOLUTION: The biliverdin reductase has such the three-dimensional structure as to form an active site or substrate-binding site by at least one group of amino acid residues selected from the group consisting of amino acid residues at 6 specific sites in a specific amino acid sequence derived from Rattus norvegicus.
