SUBSTANCE: apparatus has at least two vessels containing granular material, each equipped with inlet and outlet branch pipes, and liquid flow control unit provided with supply, discharge and drain branch pipes. Liquid flow control unit has inlet and outlet three-way distributing valves, one for each vessel containing granular material. Inlet lines of inlet distributing valve are connected one with another and with supply branch pipe. Outlet line of each inlet distributing valve is connected to inlet branch pipe of one vessel containing granular material. Drain lines of inlet distributing valves are connected one with another and with drain branch pipe. Inlet line of each outlet distributing valve is connected to outlet branch pipe of one vessel containing granular material. Drain lines of outlet distributing valves are connected to drain branch pipe. Apparatus may be employed for treatment of water used in water municipal and process water supply systems.
