PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice polishing machine which is capable of preparing polished rice for rice cooking from stored unpolished rice without vexatious procedures and operations. SOLUTION: A rice polishing mechanism 7 has a stock compartment 5 for the unpolished rice above the same, a metering section 4 for the unpolished rice in the upper part thereof and a rice bin section 2 for the unpolished rice in the upper part thereof. The lower side of the rice-polishing mechanism 7 has a rice washing mechanism 9 which removes the deposits, such as powder sticking to the polished rice during rice polishing and bran which cannot be completely removed. The rice polishing machine is provided with a receiving section 10 to store the polished rice subjected to washing in the lowermost part thereof. The metering section 4 ladles out the unpolished rice by a specified amount each by means of a spiral screw 31 and measures the amount by the rotating time of the screw 31. The prescribed amount of the unpolished rice is polished and washed, by which the polished rice for rice cooking can be prepared without retransferring the unpolished rice to an appliance.
