<p>1290570 Installing prefabricated service shafts E-MODUL AB 4 Sept 1970 [27 Nov 1969] 42412/70 Heading E1A A prefabricated service shaft having pipes for heating, plumbing and ventilation is installed in a building during its erection as follows:-a floor thickness portion 11 of the service shaft is placed on the ground floor shuttering 9 and covered by a plate 15, the concrete floor 10 is cast up to the level of the upper surface of the plate 15 and allowed to set, the plate is removed to leave a recess 18 above the portion 11 in the floor into which a storey-high service shaft unit 19 is inserted, the cover plate 15 is placed on top of the shaft unit 19, the upper portion 20 of which is similar to the portion 11, the next floor 21 is cast around the portion 20 up to the level of the plate 15, and the procedure is repeated for each storey, the pipes in the shaft units 19 &c being connected to those in the adjacent units within the upper portions 20 &c at floor levels. Surface treatment of each cast floor may take place before removal of the plate 15, which has downwardly tapering edges 17 to facilitate removal.</p> |
