METHOD FOR CLEANING WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently cleaning water by activating aerobic bacteria in water and to raise oxygen contents water by contacting a filter medium with water and air alternately by a convenient means. SOLUTION: The method for purifying water comprises steps of stopping to feed water to a filter medium intermittently and exposing the surface of the filter medium to air during a period of time to stop the feeding of water in a water tank or an aqueous area which is provided with the filter medium and a device circulating water through the filter medium. A plurality of sets of the filter medium and the water circulation device may be installed. To further improve the purification efficiency, a method for purifying water comprising dosing a dry pellet having a viable microorganism agent containing aerobic super high-temperature bacteria or its biomass culture added to the water tank or the aqueous area of the purification target site is used in combination with the above mentioned intermittent filtration method.
