PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is difficult to correctly diagnose the condition of a blood vessel because the blood vessel inside an arm is largely deformed with a unintentional abutting pressure when a probe is applied to the belly of the arm for mechanical scanning. SOLUTION: An arm 16 is inserted into a through hole 18 formed in a water bag 22, which is filled with an acoustic medium 20. The through hole 18 is closely attached to the arm 16 by adjusting the quantity of the medium inside the water bag 22 so that an appropriate sealing pressure condition is achieved. A probe 24 is mounted inside the water bag 22, and ultrasonic waves are transmitted/received by the probe 24 while the acoustic medium 20 is put between the transmitting/receiving surface of the probe 24 and the through hole 18. With the ultrasonic waves transmitted/received by the probe 24, an ultrasonic image in the arm 16 is formed. |
