PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microfilter medium which is light in weight, durable, and inexpensive and the shape of which can be changed. SOLUTION: In the FRP microfilter medium, approximately spherical particles of a cured radical polymerization type thermosetting resin are bonded to each other in the presence of a reinforcing material, the effective diameters of pores having communicating voids between bonded particles are 0.1-1.0μm, and continuous pores 10-40 vol.% in porosity are formed. The filter medium is capable of the filtration and separation of bacteria, etc., at least 1.0μm in size, useful for as a filter medium, etc., for sewage treatment, low in costs, light in weight, and durable and the shape of which can be changed.
