SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of rough and finish grinding of surface of roll barrel; performing rough grinding until removing all wear traces at guaranteed taking-off along predetermined profile while using maximum wear point as basic point; realizing correction of profile at finish grinding. EFFECT: improved strength of rolls, reduced consumption of rolls due to optimized grinding process and lowered taking off at regrinding operations. 2 dwg
