PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article processing system which is capable of easily handling and processing the sorting information relating to articles and is capable of rapidly and exactly performing the sorting processing of the articles. SOLUTION: The identification information recorded to recording media 6 of trays 5 in a measuring section b on a sorting conveyor 4 is read by information communication devices 8a to 8d of an item measuring instrument 7 and the measurement information on fruit vegetables A measured by measurement instrument 9a to 9d in correspondence to the identification information are stored in a controller 10. The prescribed items of the fruit vegetables A are decided in accordance with the measurement information and the results of sorting are stored. In addition, the receiving amounts, sorting amounts, etc., by producers and items are calculated by the controller 10 and are totaled and managed. On the other hand, the sorting information of the recording media 6 read by the information communication devices 15a and 15b of the sorting processing system 14 and the sorting reference information stored in the controller 17 are compared and the trays 5 on which the fruit vegetables A are placed are sorted and processed by the items.
