PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing capable of readily affording a lighter weight and a thinner wall of a supporting substrate of a reel body in an improved state of supporting strength and assembling accuracy of a stopper constituting a reverse rotation preventing mechanism. SOLUTION: This reel for fishing is equipped with a ratchet 50 integrally provided in a handle shaft 8a rotating by delivery of a fishing line and a reverse rotation preventing mechanism rotatably supporting a stopper 52 fitting into the ratchet 50 in a frame 2b. The reel for fishing is characterized in that a regulator 60 for regulating the rotation of the stopper 52 as a separate unit is mounted on the frame 2b and fixed.
