PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorption catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas which can efficiently remove hydrocarbons high in concentration which are discharged at the start of an engine. SOLUTION: The adsorption catalyst in which a catalyst carrier is coated with zeolite has a catalyst layer containing at least one selected from the group consisting of Pt, Pd, and Rh in powder containing active ceria and/or alumina as main components on the zeolite layer.
