<p>1366319 8-Amino-theophylline derivatives LABORATOIRE LE BRUN SA 3 Dec 1971 [7 Dec 1970] 56213/71 Heading C2C Novel compounds of the Formula I wherein R is hydrogen, a C 1-6 alkyl, a C 1-6 hydroxyalkyl, an alkoxyalkyl, a benzyl optionally substituted with at least one alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, amino or halogen, a 3,4-methylene dioxybenzyl or a (CH 2 ) n OCOR 2 ; X is R 1 or -COR 2 , R 1 is C 1-6 alkyl or hydroxyalkyl, or phenyl, R 2 is hydrogen, C 1-6 alkyl or phenyl and n is 2 to 6 and metal and acid additional salts, may be prepared by reacting an 8-halotheophylline with an amine II wherein Y is X, X, R and n having the above significance or when X is -COR 2 , reacting a 8-halo-theophylline with the amine II and subsequently reacting the 8 - (N - hydroxyalkylamino)theophylline with an acid R 2 COOH or a reactive derivative thereof. Pharmaceutical compositions of the compounds I when administered orally, parenterally or rectally, with the usual excipients, show coronary dilatory, diuretic, spasmolytic, bronchodilatory, anti-inflammatory, antalgic and/or anti-tussive activity.</p> |
