摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gravure printing roll which has an easily peelable thick film Cu-plated layer for a printed face with a smooth surface and inhibits a weld distortion and reduces a surface cutting amount when the outer peripheral face shape of a roll is modified after welding. SOLUTION: The gravure printing roll 10 has a socket and spigot part 11 formed on the inner peripheral face on both sides of an aluminum roll 10 and an aluminum flange 20 insetted in the part 11. In addition, the roll has a weld part W formed on the inside of the roll 10, the flange 20 being welded to the inner peripheral face 13 of the roll 10. When a single or a plurality of continuous grooves, interrupted grooves, recessed parts and the like are formed on the inside face 23 or the outer peripheral face of the flange 20 at a position near the weld part W, the diffusion of a heat energy to the body side of the flange 20 by heat conduction during welding is inhibited and thus the weld distortion is inhibited. Consequently, the surface cutting amount can be reduced, so that the roll is thin-walled and lightweight and the ease of handling the gravure printing roll is improved.
