PURPOSE: To obtain a piezoelectric porcelain composition containing a perovskite compound having a specific composition formula as a component, having a high electromechanical linkage coefficiency, a low mechanical quality coefficiency and a low dielectric constant, and improved in head resistance. CONSTITUTION: The powder products of raw material comprising PbO, ZrO2 , TiO2 , Nb2 O5 , Cr2 O3 , Y2 O3 , Co3 O4 , SrO and the oxide of at least one of La, Gd, Nd, Sm, and Pr are weighed, wet-mixed with each other for 10-24hrs, dehydrated, dried, calcinated at 800-1,000 deg.C for 1-3hr, and subsequently ground. The ground product is mixed with an organic binder, granulated, press-molded and subsequently calcined 1,200-1,350 deg.C for 0.5-4hr to obtain the perovskite type compound having a composition of the formula, (Pb1-x-y Srx My )a (Nbb Crc Yd Coe )f Tig Zr1-f-g O3 (M is La, Ga, Sm, Pr; 0.01<=x<=0.08, 0.02<=y<=0.05, 0.95<=a<=1.05, 0.52<=b<=0.62, 0.11<=c<=0.42, 0.02<=d<=0.31, 0.02<=e<=0.12, 0.02<=f<=0.15, 0.46<=g<=0.52, b+c+d+e=1.00). |
