A foam padding accessory adapted to be releasably attached to the central region of a conventional canoe yoke. The yoke foam padding consists of a foam pad a nd a sheet material cover, both being shaped such that the pad extends along the flat side of the central region of a wooden yoke while the cover holds it in place. The padding of th e present invention provides greater comfort to persons engaged in the act of portaging said can oe by cushioning the canoes weight over the user's shoulder area.
