PURPOSE: A method and a device for deciding disk drive parameters in user conditions are provided to control parameter values sensitive to the temperature of the disk drive to be changed appropriately for the user conditions, using the correlation according to the temperature, so as to prevent the deterioration in performance even when a hard disk drive manufacturing process and the user conditions are mutually different. CONSTITUTION: A controller decides whether a hard disk drive is in an on-mode(301). If so, the controller decides whether a current mode is an idle mode(302). If so, a temperature sensor senses the temperature in the hard disk drive to generate temperature information corresponding to a sensed temperature value(303). The controller updates the temperature information stored in a memory(304). The controller compares the updated temperature information(T) with temperature information(Tmin) in the lowest limit within a threshold temperature range corresponding to a condition such as a burn-in process(305). If the updated temperature information has a lower value than the temperature information in the lowest limit, parameter values are updated appropriately for low temperature(306). If the updated temperature information is not less than the temperature information in the lowest limit, whether the updated temperature information is larger than temperature information(Tmax) in the highest limit is decided(307). If not, the steps are ended, and if larger, the parameter values are updated appropriately for high temperature(308).
