PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lowering of printing density and the occurrence of fogging or the like in the case of performing printing after leaving an image forming device as it is without using it. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with an image carrier, an electrifying means, an exposure means, a toner carrier, a toner supply means for supplying toner 19 to the toner carrier, a transfer means for transferring a toner image formed on the image carrier to a recording medium 21, a fixing means for fixing the toner image, and a residue removing disposal means for removing residue 18 on the toner carrier when the non-operation time of the image forming device is equal to or above a specified time. In such a case, the residue 18 on the toner carrier is removed when the non-operation time of the image forming device is measured and the measured non-operation time is equal to or above the specified time, so that the electrification amount of a toner layer formed on the toner carrier does not get small in the case of performing printing after the image forming device is not used and left as it is. |
