PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber laser which improves the utilization efficiency of an excitation light with a decreased fiber length required for absorbing the excitation light. SOLUTION: A parameter of an inner cladded structure at a position of distance L1 from the incident part of an optical fiber 102, having a double- cladded structure is varied by a pressing element 103 to cause the outside of an inner cladding 102b of the optical fiber 102 to be bent slightly. This changes the intensity distribution of the excitation light, to result in a high value for the absorption again, and can raise the utility efficiency of the excitation light, even if the optical fiber 102 is short. |
