PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of preventing the faulty rotation of a fixing roller member caused by the thermal expansion of heat insulating members arranged at both side ends of the fixing roller member. SOLUTION: In this fixing device, the fixing roller member is a cylindrical elastic body consisting of metallic base substance, and both side ends of the fixing roller member are held by a rotary holding member through the heat insulating member made of resin and having a larger inside diameter than the outside diameter of the fixing roller member. When it is assumed that the coefficient of linear expansion of the heat insulating member isα1, the outside diameter thereof isϕ1, the coefficient of linear expansion of the rotary holding member isα2 and the inside diameter thereof isϕ2, 0.97×ϕ2<ϕ1+180×ϕ1×α1<ϕ2+180×ϕ2×α2 is satisfied.
