PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrode plate group body for a lead-acid battery constituted using the electrode plate group body that can form a strap of large thickness with high accuracy while positively preventing the residual state of an oxide film layer. SOLUTION: A welding jig 14 formed with a recessed part 28 corresponding to the outline shape of the straps 9, 10 is mounted to each of a positive electrode train and a negative electrode train of electrode plate leads 7, 8. Pole electrodes 11, 12 are placed in the recessed part 28, and fused lead 27 is filled in the recessed part 28 close up to the tips of the electrode plate leads 7, 8. A solidified lead layer 30 of the fused lead 27, and the base parts of the electrode plate leads 7, 8 and pole electrodes 11, 12 are dissolved by the heating of a heating means 32 to joint them to each other. Further, the solidified lead layer 3 of the fused lead 27 filled in the recessed part 28, and the upper layer part of the solidified lead layer 30 in a previous process are dissolved again by the heating of the heating means 32 to joint them to each other. This process is performed at least once to form the straps 9, 10 by jointing the respective solidified lead layers 30, 37. |
