PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording device which can suppress the deterioration of the repetitive recording durability of an optical disk even when variations in record power are enlarged. SOLUTION: The recorder has optimal record power calculation means S40 to S60 which vary record power to perform recording on the test record area of a rewritable optical disk, and find optimal record power on the basis of a signal which plays back the test record area, and an optimal erasing power calculation means S62 which finds optimal erasing power from a coefficient according to the optimal record power and the optimal record power. Since erasing power does not exceeds a fixed range even when variations in record power are enlarged by performing recording on the optical disk by using the optimal record power and the optimal erasing power, the sum of the record power and the erasing power is suppressed and the deterioration of the repetitive recording durability of the optical disk can be suppressed. |
