PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To largely facilitate installation of a net member for composing a frame arrester to an intake silencer, facilitate manufacture of the intake silencer provided with the frame arrester, and form the intake silencer compact while installing the net member for composing the frame arrester to be contained inside. SOLUTION: This intake silencer for an engine is provided with an intake port 5 connected to an intake passage of a fuel supply device of the engine, and a fresh air inlet. The intake silencer is composed of two split members 3 and 4 jointed with each other to form a box-shaped member, with a holding part 11a provided at a part of the two-split members, so that a peripheral part of the frame arrester comprising the net member 10 provided on the intake port 5 is inserted into the holding part. |
