SLEEVE FOR DISCHARGE TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleeve for a discharge tube enhancing illuminance in a direction intended by the discharge tube. SOLUTION: The sleeve for the discharge tube has a hollow long cylindrical body 10 comprising optically transparent synthetic resin and a light reflecting layer 22 arranged on an inner face of the long cylindrical body 10. The long cylindrical body 10 is of a size and shape at least partially enclosing a fluorescent tube 12, and a portion of the long cylindrical body 10 not inscribed by the light reflecting layer 22 forms an optical opening. The sleeve 10 is supported on the discharge tube 12 by caps 28 on both ends.
