PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an Fe-Cr-Ni-Al alloy in which excellent oxidation resistance and high mechanical properties particularly at an ordinary temperature can be realized at the same time, and which is further applicable to structural members and structural parts, and to provide an alloy sheet using the alloy. SOLUTION: The high strength Fe-Cr-Ni-Al based ferritic alloy having excellent oxidation resistance has a composition containing, by mass, 0.003 to 0.08% C, 0.03 to 2.0% Si, <=2.0% Mn, >1.0 to 8.0% Ni, 10.0 to <19.0% Cr, 1.5 to 8.0% Al and 0.05 to 1.0% Zr, and the balance substantially Fe. Further, the value of F represented by the formula (1) is >=12%, the value of S represented by the formula (2) is <=25%, and also, its 0.2% proof stress by a tensile test at a normal temperature after annealing at 600 to 1,050 deg.C is 550 to 1,000 MPa: F=-34.3C+0.48Si-0.012Mn-1.4Ni+Cr+2.48Al (1), and S=Ni+Cr+Al (2).
