PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cremating furnace which suppresses the reproduction of dioxines contained in a combustion exhaust gas and prevents the dioxines from exhausting in the air without increasing the combustion exhaust gas quantity during cooling. SOLUTION: The cremating furnace having an afterburning chamber 7 in an upper part of a main combustion chamber 6 comprises a cooling chamber 12 disposed near in an upper part of the afterburning chamber 7, allowing a combustion exhaust gas produced in this chamber 7 to be sent into the chamber 12, and a sprayer 15 with a nozzle 16 for spraying over and quenching the combustion exhaust gas sent into the cooling chamber 12.
