PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dubbing device and a control method of the dubbing device with which whether or not dubbing of a CD intended to dub is permitted can be recognized before reproducing the CD. SOLUTION: The dubbing device is provided with a recording prohibition deciding means 21 for detecting ISRC added for every track of the CD and deciding whether or not high-speed recording to an MD can be permitted, when carrying out high-speed dubbing from the CD to the MD, and a display control means 23 for controlling the above display means to display that high-speed dubbing of relevant information is permitted, when prescribed time has passed after ISRC of the information being an object of high-speed dubbing is first detected. Title information on a track is displayed with a track number of the track to which high-speed dubbing is newly permitted.
