PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fibrous activated carbon knitted fabric having high adsorption performances to an organic solvent gas per unit area, high air permeability, and high tear strength. SOLUTION: In this fibrous activated carbon knitted fabric obtained by making a fibrous polymer precursor into a string, knitting, and carbonizing and activating the string, the activated carbon knitted fabric has >=25 g/m2 toluene adsorption performances, >=250 cm3/cm2.sec air permeability, and >=2.5 N tear strength. The fibrous polymer precursor is a phenol-based fiber. The fibrous activated carbon knitted fabric is obtained by carbonizing and activating the fibrous polymer precursor whose yarn having >=197 dtex thickness and >=100% elongation at break in both a course direction and a wale direction. The fibrous activated carbon knitted fabric has 80-250 g/m2 absolute dry mass, 1,000-3,000 m2/g specific surface area by BET method, and the knitting weave is rib knitting or interlock stitch. |
