摘要 The invention relates to a synchronous measurement method using two planes (PT1, PT2) which are transversal to the moving direction (F) of a strip, particularly a metal strip undergoing production by rolling, and which are spaced out from each other in said direction. The position of the two edges of the strip is measured thus at the intersection between said longitudinal plane and each of said transverse planes and the position of a midpoint (B1, B2) between the two edges is deduced, which is representative of the transverse position of the strip in the corresponding transverse plane. Said measurements are taken again along at least part of the length of the strip as it moves, all of said points forming a virtual centre line (L1) of the strip. The shape of said part of the strip is deduced from all of the measurements taken using a calculation algorithm according to which: for each pair of synchronous measurements, the slope of the line passing through the two points (B1, B2) is calculated, the position of said points being determined; the calculated slope values are subsequently integrated on said part of the length of the strip; the shape of the curved line (L1) is deduced.
