PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle camera that can simply and surely overlap images captured using infrared rays and visible light on real-time basis and easily apply prescribed processings to the overlapped image, and to provide an image processing system using the on-vehicle camera. SOLUTION: The image processing system is provided with the on-vehicle camera CA, that captures in infrared ray images and visible light images, a visible image output section 22 and an infrared ray image output section 24 that respectively output the visible light image and the infrared ray image, on the basis of output signals from 1st and 2nd imaging elements, a position error correction section 26 that corrects the position errors of the respective output images, so that the information sets or the images outputted from both the output sections 22, 24 agree, and an image comparison processing section 29 that compares the visible light image and the infrared ray image outputted from the position error correction section 26, to attain various auxiliary controls which accompany automatic drive of an automobile, including detection of cars in front of the automobile, persons and animals on the basis of the result of comparison processing. |
