PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict diffusion into a final adsorbent layer in a canister to secure an empty adsorbent layer for securely adsorbing inflow evaporated fuel, and preventing blow-by into atmospheric air. SOLUTION: The second-layer adsorbent layer 8 is parted to plural adsorbent layers 8a, 8b, and 8c by plural partition plates 12 each having two air layers 10 formed by disposing filters 9 on both sides and ventilating holes 12a, and they are serially disposed. Volume of the final adsorbent layer 8c closest to an atmospheric air port 2f is set to be less than the volume of the other adsorbent layers 7, 8a, and 8b. The inside of the final adsorbent layer 8c is thus completely purged by adsorbed fuel to make an empty condition, so that adsorbent layer can be secured. Evaporated fuel flowing in from a fuel tank can thus be efficiently adsorbed, thereby blow-by into the atmospheric air can be securely prevented.
