PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize compact lengths in the front and the rear of a vehicle body to improve the maintenance property by making weight balance of a four cycle multiple cylinder engine mounted on a motor-bicycle optimum and relating the weight balance to the arrangement of an intermediate shaft, an output shaft, and a multistage transmission mechanism inside a transmission. SOLUTION: At least two cylinders whose shaft axes are directed in the vertical direction are arranged in the front and the rear of advance direction of a vehicle at an adequate interval, their crank shafts are two front and rear shafts, the transmission integral or integrated with a crank case is provided in the rear and below the rear part cylinder, the front intermediate shaft, the rear output shaft, and the multistage gear transmission arranged between these shafts are provided in the transmission, and the engine is a four cycle engine to constitute the multiple cylinder four cycle engine for the motor-bicycle provided with the engine in the vehicle body between a front wheel and a rear wheel.
