PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency oscillator capable of maintaining miniaturization by reducing the number of elements, and preventing noise. SOLUTION: The level of higher harmonic components corresponding to the basic wave of an oscillation circuit using a crystal oscillator is increased, and arbitrary higher harmonic components are selected with a surface acoustic wave filter, and the arbitrary higher harmonic components are amplified so that a high frequency oscillation output can be obtained in this high frequency crystal oscillator. In this case, a piezoelectric substrate forming the surface acoustic wave filter is constituted as a crystal substrate.
