PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire with a welded layer and a method of manufacturing the electric wire with the welded layer with favorable slipperiness in the surface of the electric wire and capable of thermally welding the welded layer at a low temperature. SOLUTION: In the electric wire 1 with the welded layer comprised by covering an insulator 3 on a conductor 2 and forming a welded layer 4 composed of a thermal self-welding material on the insulator 3, the welded layer 4 is composed of modified polyolefine. In the method of manufacturing the electric wire with welded layer by double layer extrusion of continuously extruding the insulator and the welded layer on the conductor, the welded layer is extruded at a temperature lower than an extrusion temperature of the insulator by 20-50 deg.C.
